Tim Kelly (John Russell) and Toubo Smith (Chick Chandler) are international adventurers for hire in this popular series that ran in syndication from 1955 to 1957 for a total of 52 episodes. Their adventures take the two across the globe to many far-flung and exotic locations -- while never moving from the Republic Studios backlot.
It must be stressed that Tim and Toubo are not mercenaries. Think of them more as odd job specialists, with many of the odd jobs inclulding danger.
"River of Death" finds the duo in the Brazilian jungle, serching for a lost prospector. While there, they help a constable escort a dangerous prisoner through the jungle. The prisoners escapes and Tim and Toubo soon find themselves facing a tribe of headhunters.
Also featured in this episode are Mario Gallo, Gil Rankin, Jan Arvan, Russ Conklin, and Don Diamond; both Gil Rankin and Jan Arvan had previously appeared on the series in different roles. The episode was directed by Richard Irving from a script by Fenton Earnshaw.
