Is Max able to get the voice? Pretty distinctive voices.
ReplyDeleteFor my money, yes. The only jarring part of the book is offhand references to the Continental Detective Agency. I realize that was done as a homage to Hammett's other series but it came across as too cute and something I doubt Hammett would have never done. A very minor quibble to an excellent book, and my personal opinion only; I doubt it bothered many other readers.
