Frank Gruber's conman detective Johnny Fletcher and his sidekick Sam Cragg kept stumbling across murder on the ABC Radio airwaves for about six months in 1948. The pilot episode, The Navy Colt, however, was produced by NBC Radio two years earlier, before the series was picked up by ABC. In this pilot version, Johnny was played by Albert Dekker and Sam was played by Mike Mazurki, reprising their roles in the 1946 film version of The French Key; the roles were taken over by Bill Goodwin and Sheldon Leonard.
Enjoy the wackiness of these two comic detectives.

I'm a fan of Frank Gruber's Westerns and mysteries. I've read a couple of his Johnny Fletcher stories and enjoyed them.
