For this week, I have been honoring my wife with some of the songs that meant a lot to the both of us. They are also songs that express strongly my feelings for my too-soon-gone wife. I chose this last song -- Mary Travers singing John Denver's "For Baby (For Bobbi)" to her granddaughter Wylly -- because it expresses pure love in a way that I cannot put words to. The song defines my love for Kitty, and Mary's powerful performance also defines the great love Kitty had for others, especially children.
Thank you, Mary, for this gift. And my greatesst admiration to the other artists who provided me the opportunity to express just a little of my feelings for Kitty over this week.
This week's tributes have made me remember what songs we both liked. A lot of Judy Collins, Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Dave Clark Five, Dusty Springfield, and a ton of classical music.ReplyDelete
