Today happens to be the birthday of three of the nicest people I know: my niece Sarah, our friend Ellen, and...me!
To help me celebrate my 66th birthday, I got a letter from the Social Security Adminstration informing me that they will no longer be covering me under a disability and will start covering me under retirement.
I am no longer disabled! Wow! With the stroke of a form letter, I'm cured! Cured, I tell you!
So why do my bones still ache, I wonder.
Happy birthday, you whippersnapper. Hope it's a safe and dry one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bill. The worst of the storm seems to be over here. The very worst part (for me) was when the dog decided to take five minutes to decide on the absolute, very best place to poop -- in the middle of a flipping hurricane. Dumb dog. Dumb me for being on the other end of the leash.
DeleteHappy 66th Birthday Jerry - very glad to hear the worst of the storm is over.
ReplyDeleteBuon compleanno,
Sergio
Thanks, Sergio. Hurricane Sandy decided she liked my area; unfortunately other areas were not so kucky.
DeleteHappy 66, Jerry. I guess I have something to look forward to. At 63, I'm still disabled.
ReplyDeleteI suspect I should not believe everything the government tells me, Randy. Either way, I'm going to enjoy the next year -- which has been my game plan for every year thus far. Thanks.
DeleteFeliz cumpleanos, indeed, Jerry...does it make any practical difference how the SSA classes the mite they share back with you? And just think...your bones are aching simply because of retirement, now. Time to take up hurricane dogwalking as your new career!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Todd. The dog agrees that I should continue walking him at the most inconvenient times.
DeleteHappy Birthday, Jerry! Hope you have a fantastic year ahead.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Prashant! I plan on having a fantastic year, if only to make you happy.
