THE COMPLETE (ALMOST) WONDER WARTHOG

I first encountered Wonder Warthog in the early 60s.  He is an underground comic character created by Gilbert Sheldon in 1962,  The "Hog of Steel" comes from a planet Squootpeep, where he was the son of the rulers there; he is sent to Earth because the home planet's scientists predicted the Squootpeep would explode.  (It didn't.)  He lands among hillbillies who raise him because his invulnerability prevents him from being killed and cooked.  Striking out in the big city, WW assumes the persona of mild-mannered reporter Philbert DeSanex, complete with a rubber mask to disguise his porcine features.  Any resemblance to Superman's backstory is not coincidental.

Wonder Warthog is pure slapstick relying on excessive force. and poor taste.  He is overly law and order.  (He once considered killing a lady driver because she was talking on her cell phone and might have gotten into an accident.)   He has been known to grind his enemies into sausage.

The Complete (Almost) Wonder Warthog collects 65 stories from 1962 to 2016, including his first adventure -- "Fearless, Fighting, Foulmouthed Wonder Warthog."

Wonder Warthog relies on cruel satire, inappropriate language, and NSFW situations.  I love it.  Those who worry that linking to this collection would violate the Jerry's House of Everything strict standards and code of conduct need not worry.  I have no standards.

You have been warned.
