HYMN TIME
From the 25th Annual Maidencreek All-Day Sacred Harp Singing, led by Rosie Sokolov (Berks County, Pennsylvania, 2022. Sacred Harp singing is a uniquely American form of sacred choral music that originated in New England in 1844 in The Sacred Heart, a tunebook printed in shape notes, although its ancestry can be traced back to New England musical traditions that can be traced back to 1770. The music is currently most popular in the American South.
