THE EVE BOOK, CONTAINING THE FIRST ADVENTURES OF EVE (1916)

The Adventures of Eve was a British comic strip appearing in The Tatler during World War I.  Created by Anne Harriet Fish (1890-1964) -- "Drawn by Fish.  Written and designed by Fowl." -- the strip chronicled the various adventures of Eve (a frivolous little lady), her sisters Evelyn and  Evalinda, Adam, Aunt Matilda, Uncle Fred, and the strangely drawn little dog Tou-Tou.  Sly humor and a sparcely drawn art deco style were the hallmarks of this strip as Eve navigates an England where the men have all gone to war.
