It wasn't the coronavirus, but in this episode Jack is convalescing from an illness. For the five previous weeks Jack (in real life) had been sidelined by a cold. George Burns and Gracie Allen filled in for Jack during the first week and Orson Welles subbed for the other four weeks. Everyone keeps telling Jack what a superb job Welles has done on the show which tends to idk Jack. Now Jack is about to get out of bed and head for the NBC studios to do his show. Before Jack and the Gang (Don Wilson, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Dennis Day, and Rochester) are able to rehearse the show Jack is visited by his doctor Frank Nelson), his crazy boarder Mr. Billingsley, Orson Welles' secretary Mrs. Harrington (Verna Felton), and Orson Welles himself. Dennis Day sings "We mustn't say goodbye," followed by a couple of humorous flubs by Benny and Welles.
Good fun.
Enjoy.
