A BITTER PILL

Well that didn't go the way I had hoped or expected.  Rightly or wrongly, it appears the people have spoken and I must accept the result with grace and compassion.  I will, however, be a voice of the loyal opposition for however long democracy lasts.

  1. I don't think this country is willing to elect a woman. And a Black woman was especially tough. MAGA turned into a force to be reckoned with whether Trump carries the mantle or Vance.

  2. Well, chauvinism might well've triumphed, but Harris's relative lack of willingness to describe what she Would do rather than what she wouldn't didn't help. 1/5th of the US pop voted for Drumpf. This is Not the mandate of the people, so much as the results of apathy and voter suppression, and that remains saddening at best.

  3. It was very clear what Harris would do as she stated it repeatedly. Also very clear what the convicted felon would do. And the country chose that because of hatred of others.

  4. She didn't, quite. And now it's moot.

  5. Look for Trump to pardon the January 6th insurrectionists, his pals like Navarro and Guillani, and fire Jack Smith. The Department of Justice will be purged. If I was General Milley, I'd be packing for a country with no Extradition treaty.

  6. She explained like crazy, if you paid attention. So many failed that basic test. Their failure has doomed us all.

  7. And even if she had not explained, it should not have mattered one damn bit. His record of corruption and incompetence was clear. His plans to end things was clear. AND FOOLS BOUGHT INTO THAT.

  9. Yes. Because fools are Trump's natural audience. Fools looking to have their resentment endorsed and lauded. More people should've shown up to vote. But a more persuasive argument, beyond the good case for reproductive freedom rights, would've been useful...and, as it proved, necessary.

  10. This episode (from the Election eve) of AFTER MIDNIGHT (on CBS) has lifted my mood a bit:
(if you let the videos play after the segment is over, it will move on to the next segment of the episode...and you can hit Skip on the YouTube commercials after a few seconds)

  11. On 1A this morning, Todd Zwillich mentioned the rumor that Trump may appoint Judge Aileen Cannon as Attorney-General. "Mother of Mercy! Is the end of RICO?"

  12. It's an Attempt at Kleptocracy As We've Feared It, and I feel irked..."You'll be all right, Rico...it don' look Too bad..."
