THE COMPLETE CAPTAIN COMMANDO AND HIS BOY SOLDIERS (PEP COMICS #30 -52, 54, 56, 1942 - 1946

Captain Commando was really John Grayson and his Boy Soldiers were Billy Grayson (America), Gerald Sykes (England), Armand De Latour (France), and Erik Janson (Norway).

From the very first panel of the very first episode:  "This is a tale of four average boys -- like you or you or you -- simnewhere in England.  Although they come from many lands, they are united in their love of freedom!  And their hero is freedom's foremost champion, the world reknowned fighter against tyranny  CAPTAIN COMMANDO!"  (Child labor laws were pretty relaxed in 1942.)   The boys try to join the Commandos but are rebuffed.  They sneak on to a ship headed for Norway only to discover the Captain Commando is in reality Billy's father!  Joining the Boy Soldiers is Flatbush, a boy from America.

Captain Commando and His Boy Soldiers was created by S. M. Iger and Alec Blum for MLJ Magazine's Pep Comics.  MLJ was a precursor to Archic Comics.  (Archie, Jughead, and Betty first appeared in an innocuous 6-page story in Pep Comics #22 (December 1941), and slowly gained in popularity until Archie and the gang edged out the superheroes, appearing on every cover from  November 1944 until the series' end in 1987.)

This compilation features 25 Captain Commando stories as he and the lads kick some serious Nazi butt.

Enjoy..
